At Rad Power Bikes we pride ourselves on an unrivaled customer experience, and thoroughly enjoy and appreciate hearing from our happy Rad riders.
One morning when browsing through LinkedIn, I came across a stunning landscape photo with a RadMini nonchalantly placed in the background. Intrigued, I reached out to the talented photographer, Kevin McGarry, to learn more about his experience with this foldable electric fat tyred ebike.
Here’s what Kevin had to share:
My career started in teaching in Canterbury, Kent and then Cambridge University and then as a researcher/artist in residence at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada. Alongside this I was often employed as a freelance photographer, mostly covering sports events. In these roles I have set up studios in Vancouver, Lisbon and most recently the Highlands in Scotland.
Whilst in Canada, I met lots of Scots and Canadians who told me more about the beauty of the Scottish Landscapes and I thought “I don’t know my own backyard!” So I bought a camper-van and set it up as a mobile studio. I have been touring with the idea that I would teach myself landscape photography. “Can't be that hard, right?”
I have run 49 marathons, PB 2hrs 49mins and cycled across Spain, France, Italy went from Stockholm to Bergen and from Amsterdam to Venice so I was used to having a bike, but nothing like a Rad Power Bikes ebike.
I was looking at getting two electric bikes to do one to one photo tours from a short radius of the nearby hotel I had been photographing. Whilst researching this I came across Rad Power Bikes, and in particular Craig and Aimee ‘Kinging It”, and their camper van ‘Custard’ I saw the RadMini 4 and knew that was the bike for me!
The RadMini 4 has changed my working practice, I have been venturing out further into the area around Glen Etive and Glen Noe as well as Glencoe, on the bike with three cameras, two tripods and a greater sense of adventure.
The Rad Mini has been a gift from the creative gods and wonderful for my mental and physical wellbeing during lockdown. It gets a great deal of attention from passes by, and I look forward to continuing my Rad rides well into the Spring and Summer!
