Rad Ladies | Kicking It with Aimee

Rad Ladies | Kicking It with Aimee

Here’s to #GirlPower! As we celebrate Women’s Month, we want to put the spotlight on some super special Rad ladies. Mothers, friends, partners, feminists, you name it! They all inspire us.

Rad Rider Aimee Bannister started the YouTube series Kinging-It in 2014 with one simple motto: Rule your own world.

“We want our followers to know there is so much out there to do and see,” Aimee told us. “If you have a dream, go for it!”

That’s a goal Rad Power Bikes can get behind, especially since our ebikes have helped countless riders take control of their day-to-day lives.

Here’s Aimee’s story:

Introduce yourself!

Hiya! I'm Aimee! I don’t want to call myself a “Youtuber,” but fundamentally that’s what I do. I own a travel youtube channel called Kinging-It with my boyfriend of 12 years, Craig.

Kinging-It  means to be your own boss. Go out there and truly live how you want and make sure you’re “Kinging-it” everyday.

Kinging It

Since Kinging-It is all about empowerment, what words of wisdom do you have for the women reading this?

Women are INCREDIBLE. We can do two things at once and carry a human person inside us — we are pretty cool. 😎

I want every woman reading this to realise that helping other women, cheering them on, giving them tips, recommendations, sharing things with one another is empowering for us all. We are not in competition, we’re running alongside one another.

Growing up we were taught how women should look, speak, work. We set ourselves ridiculous goals and put ourselves on diets to look more “acceptable.” I am shouting from the rooftops to love yourself and all of your stretch marks, rolls, dimples, and cellulite! Appreciate every inch of yourself.

Show off what you’ve achieved because you’re incredible!

Share a challenge you've overcome, or an accomplishment you're proud of.

Back in 2008, when I was 17 years old, I was diagnosed with cancer, Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The thought of losing my hair was mortifying and sure enough, it all came falling out after the second round of chemotherapy.

Having cancer helped to shape me into the person I am today. I was given a second chance at life and discovered a strength I didn’t know I owned.

For those battling, I want you to accept yourself when you look in the mirror. YOU are a warrior now!

And finally, share what you love most about Riding Rad!

The RadMini 4 ebikes were a game-changer for us! We got them just as lock-down began. You couldn’t leave your house unless it was for work or to exercise, so we took full advantage of the exercising part!

They’re like old-school low-riders. The orange on black is pure gangster and we often have people staring at them when we’re out and about! The RadMinis are so smooth and easygoing. And the foldability makes them even more convenient to travel with and store away.
